THE TEAM - FOUNDERS
Gaby Lahoud is a Surveyor by education since 1984, and a highly successful businessman by talent.He is a founding member of Herigatech Ltd. and has initiated several companies in his lengthy career. He started his own company “General Surveying Services” in Beirut in 1996, a leading company in Surveying & Mapping, Photogrammetry, Scan to BIM and advanced techniques in 3D- modelling and computer visualizations, with branches in Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. In 2015, Gaby began partnering with archaeologists and cultural heritage experts, to survey, document and reconstruct archaeological sites and monuments. Today, Herigatech relies tremendously on his expertise both in surveying and business management to design and implement cultural heritage projects.
GABY LAHOUD
Alia Fares is an archaeologist and building historian by training and a passionate cultural heritage manager. She is a founding member and executive director of Herigatech. She has been working in the cultural heritage sector for than 25 years, travelling between Europe and the Middle East, both as a site director with diverse academic publications, as well as a cultural heritage manager. Alia has specialized in Roman architecture and is finalizing her PhD at the University of Cologne, Germany. Today, she works for the American Society of Overseas Research, supporting ASOR’s Cultural Heritage Initiatives in the Sahel and North Africa. She is also a consultant for the German Development Bank, as well as the British Council. Furthermore, Alia has founded several NGOSs in her career, such as the Heritage Education Program (www.hep-web.org). In her free time, she volunteers for the Lebanon Mountain Trail Association, leading projects and assisting in the protection and preservation of the cultural and natural heritage along this 480km trail. Alia leads Herigatech’s future vision and directs its cultural and archaeological projects around the globe.

Dr. Hanan Charaf is a Lebanese American archaeologist and accomplished scholar, with a PhD in Archaeology from the University of Sorbonne, France. She is presently professor at the Lebanese University, as well as Director of the North African Cultural Heritage Project (2021 –) of the American Society of Overseas Research. She heads the Heritage Advocacy and training program at ASOR’s North African Cultural Heritage Initiatives, training partners in topographic surveying and 3D-modelling programs for heritage documentation. She is specialised in pottery from the Bronze age and has more than 25 years of experience as site director, having extensively surveyed and excavated numerous sites in the Middle East and the Gulf with many scientific publications. Herigatech Ltd. is proud to partner with Dr Charaf as its academic consultant.
